Death Note Will Get a New One Shot Story

UPDATIFY NETWORK - As one of the favorite series, the Animanga Death Note universe has ended since a few years ago. This one work of Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba is indeed quite short. Running for three years, the manga series only has 12 volumes.

Well, there is good news for those of you who are loyal fans of the Death Note. After previously circulating pictures showing sketches indicating the latest one-shot manga project from Takeshi Obata, this time official news from the project has been circulating.

Quoted from Anime News Network, Jump Square magazine revealed that the Death Note manga will get a new one-shot story that will be done directly by the mangaka, Takeshi Obata. Not only that, the magazine also leaked the story plot a little. More or less, the one-shot story will tell about the consequences of the Shinigami when they came down to earth.
Later, the one-shot will debut at the 30th anniversary exhibition by Takeshi Obata, entitled "Never Complete". The event will be held at 3331 Arts Chiyoda, Tokyo on July 13 to August 12.

The presence of the Death Note in a new form is certainly not a stranger. Although not present in the form of a sequel, besides Animanga, the Death Note franchise has been adapted into various forms. Among them include light novels, feature films, musical dramas, television dramas, video games, and live action films released on Netflix.

The live action film presented by Netflix is a Western adaptation that portrays the American Death Note. Released in August 2017, the film was directed by Adam Wingard and written by Charles Parlapanides, Vlas Parlapanides, and Jeremy Slater. Although starring Natt Wolff and William Dafoe, Lakeith Stanfield, and William Dafoe, as the last franchise to appear the film was felt to be less successful in indulging fans.

Death Note first debuted through the weekly Shonen Jump magazine on December 1, 2003 and ended on May 15, 2006. The Death Note received an anime adaptation which aired in Japan from October 3, 2006 to June 26, 2007. Consisting of 37 episodes, this anime was done in the shade Madhouse Studio and directed by Tetsuro Araki.
